Summer Time! July 13, 2008

Summer time is hard for me to blog. I’ve been in school, two summer sessions. The first class I took was Intro to Finance. This class was hard, but not alot of outside work. I ended up getting a B in the class, which I was excited about. Now i’m more than half way though my second class, Intermediate Finance. This one is way harder than the first. I made an A on the first test, but only by the grace of God! I had a really good study partner. I’ve even started to relax a little bit. I took Maggie, her bf Robert, Beth and Bryan out on the boat last Tuesday. It was fun, but short.

Chris came to visit me this weekend. It was so good to see him again! It has been so hard lately. He seems to make everything better and always make me happier. We spent Friday morning loating down the river, then watched a movie, then go on the boat and swam and talked. It was a real good day. Saturday was quite the opposite. We met mom and daddy and drove down to the Farm in Tennessee. He meet my two uncles, Uncle Bud and Uncle Jerry, and Aunt Teppie. We rented a U-Haul loaded it up with furniture for my new apt next year. I’m real excited about it. We didn’t get home until late that night. We sure were tired!

I’ll try and keep you updated on more of my summer, but no promises!

So one of my goals for the summer is to grow in apologetics and all around knowledge of how to have good conversations with people who do not believe in God.

My mom sent me this link and i think it is spectacular. Check it out: Here

Sun Burn! May 18, 2008

I went to the beach on Saturday with Chris’s Family and a group of their friends. It was awesome and I was stoked. Perfect weather, not to hot, nice breeze, lots of sun. The water was cold, but Alex made me get in with him and I really enjoyed it after I did get in.

I lounged around soaking up some rays. Did some studying for school, it was so nice. Until I fell asleep on my stomach… I used some 30 spf, but obviously not enough! I am so crispy fried it’s not even funny. Walking is so painful, cause the backs of my knees got it good. I fully expect my back and maybe my legs to peel. Should be fun.

Ear Infection May 14, 2008

So it seems that I have an ear infection. I went to the University’s Health Center today and had a doctor check it out. He gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I have to take 1 pill 3 times a day. I don’t know how I’m going to remember to do that!?!? Three times a day? Normal people would just take it at every meal blah blah blah… But I don’t usually eat in the mornings. I asked Chris to help me remember, but he’s bad at forgetting too. So if any of you would like to help me remember to take my pills… like the old woman that I am… feel free.

Post Office and Summer School May 14, 2008

So this week I started my first Finance class. It’s two hours, four days a week for five weeks. Not bad. I just really want to make a good grade and since we’re covering a chapter a day, I don’t have alot of time to learn the material. STUDY! I also am working on campus at the Post Office. I am allowed to work 20 hours a week! that’s alot. To be honest after an hour or two, there’s really nothing for me to do. My boss is exactly honest so she has let me go early the past few days.

Good Movies May 6, 2008

I love movies.  Lately, I’ve seen a few great movies.

  1. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium: This is one of those wonderful children’s movies that you like to watch as a grown up just because it makes you believe in magic again. The magic store is owned by a very old man named Mr. Magorium. When he realizes that it will soon be time for him to go, he hires an accountant. Although I was not enthused about the rep that the accountant gave the rest of us… I feel as if you like silly wondrous magic that you’ll love this one and take some inner meaning back home with you too.
  2. Neverwas: This is a grownups cross between a fairytale and a medical mystery. Twisted beautifully with a family tragedy, that happens when the main character is a small boy. The boy grows up and takes a position at a mental hospital that his father was at years ago in hopes to make it better for the now current patients, and I think you’ll find that he does.
  3. Premonition: This movie has one of my very favorite actresses in it. Sandra Bullock. As usual she does an amazing job. The movie is super confusing, but as “Linda” figures it out, so do you. It’s soo complicated, which I really like. It’s totally not what I expected from the previews. Nothing scary or paranormal. Just a great mystery and a good love story.

My Birthday 2008 May 6, 2008

I just had my 22nd Birthday (May 2) and it was quite the Birthday.
So I’ll be honest here for a second, I totally thought that my Birthday was going to stink. And at first it did.

My Birthday happens to always fall during exam week at Radford University, this year being no different, my Birthday fell on the last day of exams. Usually my friends try and plan something to celebrate my Birthday a week or two before exams, since the week of exams is full of studying and moving back home for the summer. This year however was just really complicated it seemed and we couldn’t get everyone together at the same time. So it seemed like nothing was planned.

It didn’t really bother me, because my Birthday seemed really important to Chris. Chris was going to come up for my birthday and that would make it special and fun. Five days before my Birthday, Chris gives me a call with Bad news. He couldn’t come. It seemed as though his work had scheduled him to work Both Friday and Saturday of that weekend. I tried not to be upset, cause I knew that my Birthday was a rough time for everyone’s schedules, but I was.

The Day of my Birthday I took an exam and ran a few errands around town, like emptying out my meal plan on campus and selling my books back. I had invited a few friends over for a late lunch at 2. We were going to eat the food my mom had brought us a couple of days prior. At first I thought that no one was going to be able to come except for Maggie. I got really bummed cause the day seemed very lonely and unspecial. It turned out that five of my friends showed up. We then went around campus to empty the rest of their meal plans and see if there was any furniture that was being thrown away that we might want. Maggie got several things.

Chris wrote me a really sweet poem on his website that you can check out. It’s titled “For Her”. The girls took me to Christiansburg to go sundress shopping. I felt like a princess! They all picked out dresses that they thoght might look cute. We ended up with around twenty dresses, but it went quick and wasn’t alot of work. Beth took clothes off the hanger, Maggie put them on me, Liz put them back on the hanger, Camiella organized them into piles according to our likes and dislikes. I had alot of fun and ended up with two dresses!

By this time it was about dinner time and we headed back to Radford. I found two dozen roses waiting on me from Chris! So sweet! I picked up a few friends and we headed out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse for dinner. It was a busy night so we didn’t get seated until 9. Phillip and I celebrated both our Birthdays since his Birthday was May 4. On out way back, Chris called and was acting all sketchy, he asked alot of questions and wanted me to meet up with Maggie and Beth at Sonic’s, so I knew something was up and thought that he had arranged something through them. Me and two other girls were just hangin out in my room when Chris walked in my room with more flowers! He is soo sweet! He totally made the weekend soo much better! He brought me presents from his mom and dad that totally rocked and gave me a pair of fierce shoes.

A Birthday that I thought was going to be less than mediocre, turned out to be quite memorable and fun!

Thanks everyone! I love y’all!
